Everything You Need to Know About Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Fontainebleau Las Vegas is a 67-story, 5-star luxury resort that opened in December 2023 on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. The property brings a Miami hospitality legacy to the desert — the original Fontainebleau Miami Beach opened in 1954 and became a cultural landmark, appearing in films like Goldfinger and Scarface. The Las Vegas location extends that brand into a 25-acre resort with 3,644 rooms, over 30 restaurants and bars, a 150,000-square-foot casino, and 550,000 square feet of convention space.

History and Development

The Fontainebleau Las Vegas project has a long history. Construction originally began in 2007, but the project stalled in 2009 when the financial crisis hit and the developer filed for bankruptcy. The partially built 68-story tower sat unfinished on the Strip for over a decade. In 2021, new ownership under Jeffrey Soffer's Fontainebleau Development completed the acquisition and restarted construction. The resort finally opened on December 13, 2023, more than 16 years after breaking ground.

Rooms and Suites

The resort has 3,644 rooms spread across the tower, all designed as suites with separate living areas. Room categories range from the entry-level Bleau rooms to the top-tier Fleur de Lis suites. Every room features floor-to-ceiling windows with views of either the Strip or the surrounding mountains. The interiors blend mid-century design cues from the Miami original with a modern aesthetic — neutral tones, marble bathrooms, and integrated smart-room technology throughout.

Dining

Fontainebleau houses over 30 dining and drinking options. The lineup covers a wide range of cuisines and price points:

  • Mother Wolf — Scott Conant's Italian restaurant focused on handmade pastas and Roman-inspired dishes
  • Komodo — Southeast Asian cuisine in a multi-level setting, known for its signature Peking duck
  • Don's Prime — A classic steakhouse with dry-aged cuts and an extensive wine list
  • La Côte — French brasserie offering seafood and traditional French fare
  • KYU — Wood-fired Asian-inspired cooking with a casual atmosphere
  • Vida — American restaurant with a broad menu and open layout
  • Washing Potato — Dim sum restaurant serving traditional Cantonese dishes
  • BAR ITO — Japanese-inspired cocktail bar and small plates
  • Nona — Italian comfort food from a family recipe-driven menu
  • La Fontaine — Upscale dining option within the resort
  • The Tavern — Casual pub-style dining
  • El Bagel — Quick-service bagel shop for grab-and-go breakfasts
  • Promenade Food Hall — Multiple fast-casual options in one space
  • Cafe Cuto — Coffee and light bites
  • Chez Bon Bon — Artisanal bakery and confections

For drinks, the resort has Bleau Bar, Collins, Azul, Nowhere (a lounge concept), and Cocoa Dolce Chocolates for dessert drinks.

Casino

The gaming floor spans approximately 150,000 square feet and includes table games, high-limit rooms, a sportsbook, and over 1,400 slot machines. The sportsbook features a large LED screen wall and individual betting stations.

Entertainment and Nightlife

  • BleauLive Theater — A 3,800-seat concert venue that hosts residencies and touring acts. The theater has hosted major performers since opening.
  • LIV Nightclub — The Las Vegas outpost of the famous Miami nightclub. LIV books high-profile DJs and runs a regular weekend schedule.
  • Nowhere — A lounge with a more intimate setting for drinks and conversation.
  • Chyna Club — A restaurant and nightlife hybrid concept.

Spa, Pool, and Fitness

Lapis Spa & Wellness occupies a dedicated floor and offers massage, facial, and body treatments along with a hydrotherapy circuit. The resort's Pool District includes multiple outdoor pools — some with a party-pool atmosphere and others designed for relaxation. A full fitness center is available to all hotel guests.

Convention and Meeting Space

Fontainebleau has 550,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, making it one of the largest convention hotels on the Strip. The property sits directly adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center, which is connected via the Las Vegas Monorail. This positioning makes it a strong option for business travelers attending CES, SEMA, and other major trade shows.

Architecture and Design

The 67-story tower is one of the tallest buildings in Las Vegas. Its curved blue-glass exterior is a deliberate nod to the ocean-inspired aesthetic of the Miami original. The interior common areas feature high ceilings, natural stone, and large-scale art installations. The lobby flows into the casino and restaurant spaces without the typical cramped corridors found in many Strip properties.

Location

Fontainebleau sits at 2777 S Las Vegas Blvd, at the north end of the Strip near the Resorts World and the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Las Vegas Monorail has a stop at the Convention Center, providing transit access to properties further south on the Strip. Harry Reid International Airport is about a 15-minute drive.
