Writing Great Reviews

Your reviews help millions of visitors and locals make better decisions about where to eat, stay, and spend their time in Las Vegas. A well-written review is specific, honest, and helpful to people who haven't visited the business yet.

Getting Started

To write a review, navigate to any listing page and scroll to the Reviews section. You'll need a free VegasVox account to submit a review.

Choosing Your Star Rating

The star rating is a quick summary of your overall experience:

| Stars | Meaning | |-------|---------| | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Exceptional — exceeded expectations | | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Good — would recommend with minor reservations | | ⭐⭐⭐ | Average — had both positives and negatives | | ⭐⭐ | Below average — significant issues with the experience | | ⭐ | Poor — would not return or recommend |

Rate based on your actual experience, not your expectations based on price or reputation.

What Makes a Great Review

Be Specific

The most helpful reviews give details that help others know what to expect.

Less helpful: "The food was good."

More helpful: "The dry-aged ribeye was cooked exactly to temperature and the truffle fries were a perfect side. Service was attentive without being intrusive."

Describe the Full Experience

Consider mentioning:

  • What you ordered or experienced
  • The quality of service
  • The atmosphere and setting
  • Wait times, if notable
  • Value for money
  • Anything that surprised you (positively or negatively)

Be Honest

Write about your actual experience. If something went wrong, describe it factually without exaggerating. If the issue was resolved well, mention that too.

Be Timely

Reviews are most useful when they reflect a recent visit. Try to write your review within a few days of your experience while details are fresh.

Adding Photos to Your Review

Photos make your review more credible and useful. To add photos:

  1. During the review writing process, click Add Photos
  2. Select images from your device
  3. Photos are attached to your review and displayed in the business's photo gallery

Photos must be taken during your actual visit and comply with VegasVox's photo guidelines (no explicit content, no watermarks).

Review Guidelines

All reviews must follow VegasVox's community standards:

  • Relevant: Your review must be about your direct experience with the business
  • Original: Write in your own words — don't copy from other sources
  • Honest: Don't review businesses you haven't personally visited
  • Respectful: Critique the experience, not individuals. Avoid personal attacks
  • Conflict-free: Don't review your own business, employer, or a direct competitor

Reviews that violate these guidelines will be removed. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.

After You Submit

Your review goes through a brief automated moderation check. Most reviews appear within 15 minutes. Business owners may respond publicly to your review — you'll receive a notification if they do.

You can edit or delete your reviews at any time from your profile under My Reviews.
